I must say I was dissapointed with Xoft Spy. I had payed my $40 and I was pretty confident I was on to a winner with it. It looked good, the screen shots looked good. As for feature set, ease of use and customization go it is actually fairly good. It is not the best I have seen, but it is not bad. However, as for functionality this is a different story. This is one of the worst spyware removal software I have tried yet. It missed a lot, and I mean a lot, of spyware.Xoft Spy found 15 pieces of spyware and then performed a clean. Then just to run a small test I ran my normal spware remover. Unfortunately, my normal spyware remover detected a further 46 pieces of spyware... Oh dear, it looks like I bought a pup.
I you would still like to have a look at it it is at the botom of this page

RegCure Review
As I said in my last post I had a request for a good paid registry cleaner. I have already mentioned a free registry cleaner, but this product is different. I origianlly took the free registry scan to see how many errors I had. I had about four hundred errors, which I was a bit concerned over, considering the importantance of my computer to my income. Not only that but I thought I knew a fair bit about computers. This was probabley the most comprehensive scan I have had done as a freebie. So I would advise you to do this right now and use the free registry cleaner they provide, I think you still get one free scan. There is a link to it on this page here near the bottom of the page. Once you have run the test, if you have more than one hundred and fifty errors, I would say you definately need to buy the full product.
So, the product. the package is highly customizable to your own wants and needs, so if you are running a single home computer or a network of machines, this is the registry cleaner for you. As you would expect with the best registry cleaner the results of the test I ran on it were good. Initally, my start up time was around four minutes, but after using this product start up was sliced to about three minutes. I was so impressed I bought the product there and then. Once I bought the full version, more features were introduced into the mix. There is a really neat manage start up feature, which I use extensively. I would say you definately need to get this registry cleaner. there are three or four more, which I will talk about in later posts, but right now I would say this is the one to go for. You can get it from here! near the bottom of the page I think.

Microantivirus Review
Right so, I have had a few emails asking for more detail in my reviews and more reviews. I am a man of the people so I will try and do that. I also got an email asking if I could recomend any paid anti virus and what was the best anti virus. My other email was asking about a paid registry cleaner, but I will leave that for the next post.
Right so, a paid anti virus. Well I personally use Zone Alarm. But for the average person, I do not reccomend this. By the far the best anti virus for home computers is Microantivirus. Many people just walk straight for Norton or another common piece of anti virus software. Big mistake in my opinion. Norton in particular is notoriously bad for not delivering when it comes to being up to date with new definitions, in order to ptotect you from the latest virus. Then when you want to uninstall it from your computer, you can't unless you get the program completely wiped from your hardrive, which is risky. If you do not get it removed, you will be bombarded from everytime you turn on your computer with popups telling you, it is crucial you upgrade and subscribe for another year. Symnatec, the people who make Norton, offer a small application that supposedly removes Norton, belive that if you want, I am not sure. Anyway, the point being, do not install Norton on your computer at all, not even a free trial unless you want annoying popups down the line.
So what are you left with. Well, as I have said I always say Microantivirus is the best anti virus software. In my experience anyway, it gives the best value for money. It is about $30 for the year I believe, which in comparison is pretty cheap. In my experience it has always caught every virus on a system and has good definitions. The support for it is a bit poor, with the average support issue taking about about a day. My friend, who is the person that introduced this to me, was a bit annoyed when his problem took two days to resolve. This anti virus is not the most popular out there, but honestly do not be fooled, it is one of the best.
In addition this also comes with a five week money back guarentee, so you might aswell try it out. You can get it Here

Who am I?
I got an email in from a reader today asking if I would tell you a bit about myself. So, I am a web developer. I mainly publish content sites for a living. I do not bad out of them and my wife works aswell so we make a good living. I have diiferent computers for different things. I have three computers for design, which are normally used by two employees I have. I use other for various other things. My wife is a photographer, so she need a couple of computers, for editing and what not. We then have a family computer and my daughter has her own computer.
I feel it is essentail that all our computers are fully protected. It is crucial that mine and my wifes computers are secure because our source of income is dependant on those computers working. Being a protective parent, my main priority is keeping my daughters computer safe. I do not want her to be getting viruses and then seeing things she should not. that is my main concern and the reason why I have wriiten this blog, to highlight some free ways of protecting your computer and your family. So far as I know the software I have mentioned here is free. Please do make use of these tips and get as much protection as you can. Some people say not to use more than one anti virus. I say rubbish. I use atleast five, and my computer functions better than it ever has. Do yourself a favour and download the anti virus and anti spyware packages.
To download it go to the page and click download. Then follow the on screen instructions. If you ca not follow these instructions get someone who is a bit more conmputer savvy to do it for you. I find children are usually best at this.
So there you have it. If you have any other questions, please email me. I am happy to help.

MacroVirus On-Call review
I would say this is one of my primary anti Virus packages I use on about half of my machines, I have twelve. It is a comprehensive package, including both an anti virus and a anti spware. It runs automatically on those machines. The definitions, which are the new virus it can protect against, are some of the best I have seen. They are updates eveytime you switch the computer on, which can be a bit annoying sometimes I suppose, but if you are serious about computer safety which I am you need to be patient. I wold say this software is not as user friendly as some I have used, but it is still not bad. If you are not running this, I would strongly suggest you download this software right now. If you do not you are missing out on an excellent package.
I believe you can still get a free copy of the software here!

Error Killer Review
Error killer is a great product which I use almost daily. Because I am surfing the web all day, and always making modifications to my computer, I had literally more than ten thousand errors within my registry. This is of course an extreme case. But I then recommended it to my Friend. He just uses his computer for leisure, but the program still found over four hundred faults in his registry. After he used it he said that he noticed an increase in performance. This meant he no longer had to spend another $90 on some new RAM.
The product is easy enough to use, and is best set on auto pilot. Apart from that there is not much else to using it. As with most of these products, you just press scan and it goes.
Not only does this correct errors in your registry, which improves the functionality of your p.c, it also protects you from other viruses. Viruses love to detect vulnerable areas in your computer to exploit. If you are serious about computer protection, you need a registry corrector. You can get a free download Here!

Anti Spyware Bot Review
Anti Syware Bot is in my opinion one of the best free spyware removers. It has a relatively user friendly user interface, and often brings up returns other programs did not. For example, our computer runs Zone Alarm anti virus protection software. However, included in this is their spyware package. Seeing as I run multiple computers, all requiring different packages and licences, my current set up costs me around $40 a month. Anti Spware Bot is free, and it detected some stuff, my expensive program did not. Go figure.
I always encourage people to have more than one anti spware and anti virus running. In my experience, I have never had any problems. So get yourself a copy of this product here!
